According to the data collected by AAPP, between February 2021 and June 23, 2023, (354) people died from artillery strikes conducted by junta forces, with Sagaing reporting the highest deaths, comprising (114) victims within the region. Disaggregation shows that (23) people between  February and December in 2021, (217) people in 2022, and (114) people between January and the third week of June 2023 have died due to artillery strikes by the junta.

On the night of June 21, junta forces stationed at Technological University (Kalay) attacked San Thar (East) Village in Kale Township, Sagaing Region using heavy artillery. As there were no recorded clashes in the region, the artillery attacks were indiscriminate in nature. An artillery shell struck a house in the village, killing a 5-year-old child due to shrapnel striking them on the head.

AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences, and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
