Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of December 31, (1384) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (2) fallen heroes today. These (2) fallen heroes from Gantgaw Township and Pakokku Township in Magway Region were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.  

As of December 31, a total of (8338) people are currently under detention. (500) people have been sentenced in person, of them 39 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1964 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 78  sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.

On the night of December 29, the armed wing of the junta entered Hnan Khar Village in Magway Region’s Gantgaw Township. Terrorist troops killed then set fire to a local villager named Htwar Maung. 

Myo Naing, living in Ward (3) in Magway Region’s Pakoku Town, was arrested on October 25 for being accused of having relations with the People Defense Forces (PDFs) in Pakokku Township. Myo Naing died in Pakokku Prison on December 27 from injuries consistent with torture at an interrogation center.
