Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Date – 13 February 2026

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,788) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.

Since the coup, a total of (30,463) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,769) are currently in detention, (11,515) of whom are serving sentences.

These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.

According to the data collected by AAPP, from January 1 to February 13, 2026, the junta killed (65) women in total across the country, including (10) girls under the age of 18. The youngest recorded death was a 5 month old girl. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among them, Sagaing Region records the highest number of fatalities, with (21) women killed, followed by (12) in Magway Region. Among the (65) deceased, (48) women were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, recording the highest cause of death. During the stated period, the AAPP has also received information regarding the death of (24) women, as a result of junta attacks, whose identities have yet to be confirmed.

On the early morning of February 11, junta forces conducted an aerial bombing on villages in Nattalin Township, Bago Region. The bombs struck and exploded in Kyauk Pyoke Village, with the bomb shrapnel instantly killing Aye Aye Toe, an internally displaced person.

During the stated period, the junta arrested (3) women in relation to the Spring Revolution across the country. The arrested individuals include (2) from Yangon Region and (1) from Ayeyarwady Region.
