Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (8,345) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.

A total of (31,899) people have been arrested by the junta for opposing their arbitrary seizure of power. Of those arrested, (14,800) are confirmed to still be in detention, while (7,873) remain to be verified.

These are the numbers reported by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.

According to the data collected by the AAPP, from January 1 to September 9, 2026, the junta killed (121) children in total under the age of 18 across the country; (54) girls and (67) boys. The youngest recorded death was a two-month-old boy. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, Bago Region records the highest number of deaths, totaling (29), followed by (24) children in Chin State. Moreover, among the (121) deceased, (87) children were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, marking the highest cause of death. This was followed by (17) children who were killed after being detained by the junta. During the stated period, the AAPP has also received information regarding the death of (70) children, as a result of junta attacks, whose identities have yet to be confirmed.

On September 5, junta forces raided Moke Taw Gyi Village, Minbu Township, Magway Region. They opened fire with heavy weaponry and firearms, killing Wine Lamin Aung, a 13 years old child, and Wai Wai Htay, who was physically disabled.
