Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (8,323) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.

A total of (31,833) people have been arrested by the junta for opposing their arbitrary seizure of power. Of those arrested, (14,751) are confirmed to still be in detention, while (7,871) remain to be verified.

These are the numbers reported by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.

According to data collected by AAPP, from January 1 to August 26, 2026, (52) people in total; (12) women and (40) men, were killed by the junta in Chin State, including (24) children under the age of 18. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, (50) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, marking the highest cause of death. During the stated period in that region, the AAPP has also received information regarding the death of (21) civilians, whose identities have yet to be confirmed.

On August 24, junta forces conducted an aerial bombing using jet fighter aircraft on Sein Nyin Wa Village, Paletwa Township, Chin State. The resulting bomb shrapnel instantly killed five civilians, including three women and two children under the age of 18. Moreover, several other civilians were injured.
