October, 2026 Monthly Chronology

From October 1 to 31, 2026
3 November 2026
According to information gathered by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), there have been (9) individuals who was arrested under political pretenses in October 2026. Moreover, (103) pro-democracy activists and civilians have lost their lives this month. Among them, (3) lost their lives under various circumstances following their arrest.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP and only includes information and data that has been identified. The actual numbers on the ground are likely much higher. AAPP has been working separately to collect and verify the information of around (90) people still under identification, who died within the month.
“Hundreds of people have lost their lives every month due to the junta’s violent one-sided attacks and acts of torture across the country. Furthermore, the aerial bombardment of sites where internally displaced persons (IDPs) are seeking refuge is an incredibly despicable act. Following the precedent set by the Southeast Asia National Human Rights Institutions Forum in excluding the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, it is imperative that other international organizations urgently implement concrete and practical measures.”
