Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (8,433) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.

A total of (31,981) people have been arrested by the junta for opposing their arbitrary seizure of power. Of those arrested, (14,847) are confirmed to still be in detention, while (7,856) remain to be verified.

These are the numbers reported by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.

The junta has been committing attacks targeting civilians through various means, on a daily basis. The junta is thereby violating the fundamental right to life, liberty and security.

On September 23, junta forces conducted an aerial bombing attack on a civilian area in Indaw Township, Sagaing Region, killing five people. On the same day, they fired heavy weaponry into Dar Kyun Village in Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, despite no clashes occurring. The resulting explosion inside the compound of a monastic education school killed a primary school student and injured other children.

Furthermore, ground reports indicate that an aerial bombing on Taung Hpu Village in Pauktaw Township, Rakhine State, on September 20, damaged a monastery and several homes, as well as religious buildings within the compound of the historic Taung Hpu Buddha Statue.
