Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (8,239) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.

A total of (31,700) people have been arrested by the junta for opposing their arbitrary seizure of power. Of those arrested, (14,645) are confirmed to still be in detention, while (7,863) remain to be verified.

These are the numbers reported by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.

The junta has been systematically and intentionally committing widespread war crimes and crimes against humanity, exposing civilians to severe human rights violations on a daily basis.

Starting from August 3, junta forces launched offensives into villages in Chauk Township, Magway Region, and set fire to the houses. Consequently, almost the entirety of Na Ywe Taw Village, comprising around 400 houses, was destroyed by fire. Similarly, on August 5, they set fire to Seik Tein (North) Village in Kyaukpadaung Township, Mandalay Region, destroying over 20 buildings, including residential houses.

In addition, in August, junta forces conducted a drone bombing on Daw Ku Lel Village in Hpruso Township, Kayah State, killing 5 individuals, including a 6-month-old infant. Moreover, they abducted at least 10 people for forced labor, including youths in Monywa Town, Sagaing Region, while in Launglon Township, Tanintharyi Region, they also apprehended 8 locals, according to the information on the ground.
