Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup
Date – 11 November 2025
Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,452) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,945) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,628) are currently in detention, (11,347) of whom are serving sentences.
According to the latest information gathered and confirmed by AAPP, (77) people have been arrested under the Protection of Elections Law, among whom (54)individuals have not yet been identified.
These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from October 1 to November 11, 2025, the junta killed (18) people in total in Rakhine State; (9) women and (9) men, including (7) children under the age of 18. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among these deaths, (17) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes marking the highest cause of death. The rest (1) was killed by the junta’s artillery strikes. During the stated period in that region, the AAPP has also received information regarding the death of (8) civilians, as a result of junta attacks, whose identities have yet to be confirmed.
On November 7, at approximately 8 p.m., junta forces conducted an aerial bombing on Myo Thit Ward, Minbya Township, Rakhine State, killing two internally displaced persons (IDP) and three locals from bomb shrapnel. The victims were Oo Maung Than and Than Maung Htay, two IDPs from Ah Lel Kyun Village, Myebon Township, and Maung Than Htay from Myo Thit Ward, Khaing Sann Shwe, and Theingi Kyaw from Oke Kar Pyan Ward, Minbya Township.
