Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the February 1, 2021 coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (3,659) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians have been killed through military crackdowns against the pro-democracy movement.
Since the coup, a total of (23,323) people were arrested and among them, (18,987) are currently under detention, (6,348) of whom are serving sentences. There are a total of (115) post-coup death row prisoners as of June 13, 2023. (121) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (42) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (157) people who have been sentenced to death. (4,337) people have already been released.
These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by the AAPP, during the first two weeks of June, the junta has been responsible for the deaths of (8) women and (37) men; a total of (45) people across the country. Sagaing Region has the highest number of deaths recorded, with (21) people within the region alone.
On June 10, at 7 a.m., a coalition of junta forces and Pyu Saw Htee militiamen raided Pi Tauk Pin Village in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region. They proceeded to shoot and kill a local identified as Thein Win.
Moreover, with regards to apprehension across the country, (9) women and (47) men have been arrested, amounting to (56) people in total, with (19) people apprehended solely within Sagaing Region in the span of two weeks. (3) out of the (19) people were female and (16) of them were male.
On June 7, at around 4 p.m., the junta forces were inspecting traveling civilians on Shwebo-Myitkyina Road, Aung Myit Tar Ward in Indaw Township, Sagaing Region. They arrested Tin Maung Win and Zaw Myint Tun for allegedly being PDF personnel.
