Since the February 1, 2021, military coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (3,062) people, including pro-democracy activists and other civilians, have been killed through military crackdowns following pro-democracy movements.

Since the coup, a total of (16,065) people are currently under detention, (4,671) of whom are serving sentences. There are a total of (103) post-coup death row prisoners as of February 27, 2023. (120) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (41) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (144) people who have been sentenced to death. (24) people have been released on bail, and (3,837) people have already been released. These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.

According to information gathered today, on February 22, a junta column with around 100 personnel opened gunfire on and then raided Ahtet Ngar Nan Village in Yinmarbin Township, Sagaing Region. As a result, villager Tin Mar Khaing was killed by gunshot.

In addition, on February 24, without any battle taking place, the junta’s Pekon Town-based No. 7 Operation Control Command fired heavy weaponry at Taung Sa Lone Village, Myauk Sa Lone Village, and Kaung Me Tin Village in Pinlaung Township, Shan State. As a result, a woman of Taung Sa Lone Village was killed by an artillery shell.
