According to information gathered today, on February 18, the junta’s Light Infantry Battalion 599 (LIB-599) fired heavy weaponry into Kyun Taw Village in Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region. At the time, LIB-599 was stationed in Tone Taw Village in Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region. A junta artillery shell exploded on a house in Kyun Taw Village, killing Myint Myint San and injuring two children, ages 5 and 12. All three were in the house when the shell exploded.

In addition, on February 19, at around 6:30 p.m., junta forces came in a private car to a Shan noodle shop in Shwe Hpone Shein Ward in Mahaaungmyay Township, Mandalay Region. They arrested shop owner Aung Win Htut (aka Ko Aung), who was a staunch NLD supporter. At 9 p.m. that day, the junta told his family to come and collect his body at Police No. 7. Upon retrieving his body, his family found that he had injuries consistent with beatings.
