Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (900) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the junta between February 2021 and November 2022.
Since the February 1, 2021, military coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (2553) people, pro-democracy activists and other civilians have been killed through military crackdowns following pro-democracy movements.
Since the coup, a total of (13017) people are currently under detention, (1666) of whom are serving sentences. There are a total of (90) post-coup death row prisoners as of December 1, 2022. (121) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (42) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (132) people who have been sentenced to death. (23) people have been released on bail and (3447) people have already been released. These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
On November 30, it was reported that the Insein Prison martial court handed a death sentence to 7 Dagon University students and 4 youth activists. AAPP was able to confirm the death sentence of the 4 youths, however we are still investigating the reported death sentences of 7 university students.
On November 30, the Pyapon Prison special court sentenced Myo San Soe to serve 15 years in prison. The reporter was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison under the Counter-Terrorism Law Section 50 (J) and 5 years in prison with Section 52 (A) of the same Law. On October 29, 2021, junta police came to question him while he was doing charity work in Pyapon Township, in the course of this they discovered an alleged connection with the PDF on his phone and so detained him.
