Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (786) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the junta between February 2021 and October 2022.
Since the February 1, 2021, military coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (2533) people, pro-democracy activists and other civilians have been killed through military crackdowns following pro-democracy movements.
Since the coup, a total of (12976) people are currently under detention, (1608) of whom are serving sentences. There are a total of (86) post-coup death row prisoners as of November 23, 2022. (121) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (42) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (128) people who have been sentenced to death. (22) people have been released on bail and (3405) people have already been released. These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
Honey Su Kyi Zaw, a CDM primary school teacher from Tamu Township, Sagaing Region, was accused of financially supporting CDM teachers by the junta. On November 21, she has been sentenced to serve 10 years of imprisonment under Counter-Terrorism Law Section 50 (J). Aside from participating in the CDM, Honey Su Kyi Zaw is a member of the NLD. She was arrested on November 23, 2021, at her house in Sao-Bwar 6 Ward, Tamu Town.
A junta column raided and set fire to Paung Lel Kone Village, Khin-U Township, Sagaing Region, on November 18 and 19. As a result of the raid & fire, two locals died. One of them is 85-year-old blind woman Chit Su, who died due to the fire. Another casualty is San Win, who was struck by an artillery shell as he was trying to flee from the village, on November 19.
