Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (786) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the junta between February 2021 and October 2022.
Since the February 1, 2021, military coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (2530) people, pro-democracy activists and other civilians have been killed through military crackdowns following pro-democracy movements.
Since the coup, a total of (12967) people are currently under detention, (1602) of whom are serving sentences. There are a total of (86) post-coup death row prisoners as of November 22, 2022. (121) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (42) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (128) people who have been sentenced to death. (22) people have been released on bail and (3399) people have already been released. These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
On November 21 morning, three civilians died when the armed wing of the junta fired heavy weaponry on Taung Ka Lay Village during a clash. Junta forces also used aircraft to attack the village, located in Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon State. Among the three civilians who died, was a male traveler, who was hit by heavy weaponry and died as a result. The two other casualties are local residents, a 15-year-old girl and a 40-year-old man with poor mental health, who died due to the airstrike. In sum, ten people were injured, five of whom were severely injured.
On November 21, at 11:50AM, local villager Pi Run Neih Kim, was killed in an explosion from the junta’s heavy weaponry fired into the yard of her house in Sal Gyi Village. The artillery shot was fired indiscriminately from a junta base in Kale Township, Sagaing Region.
