Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (786) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the junta between February 2021 and October 2022.  

Since the February 1, 2021, military coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (2420) people, pro-democracy activists and other civilians have been killed through military crackdown following pro-democracy movements.             

Since the coup, a total of (12890) people are currently under detention, (1632) of whom are serving sentences. There are a total of (86) post-coup death row prisoners as of November 7, 2022. (121) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (42) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (128) people who have been sentenced to death. (22) people have been released on bail and (3188) people have already been released. These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly. 

On November 4, in the morning, the armed wing of the junta shelled villages with artillery in Kyauktaw Township in Rakhine State. A total of 26 civilians were injured, and three people died. The fatal victims are Maung Tu (80 Years), Aung Min Naing (8 Years) from Shwe Pyi Thit village, and Aye Than Nu (41 Years) from Wat Mhine village.

In the afternoon of November 4, Infantry Battalion 247 junta convoys came down from Namhkan Township to Mong Wee Village, in Shan State. After land mines were detonated, hitting the Battalion, the junta troops opened fire on people harvesting rice in the field nearby, killing two locals: Ah Naing Yun and Ah Yeh Yeh from Mansat Village. Ah Naing Yun was shot dead in the face. Ah Yeh Yeh who was also shot, had his neck and ears cut off, and he was stabbed in the stomach and the back.
