Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (786) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the junta between February 2021 and October 2022.  

Since the February 1, 2021, military coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (2412) people, pro-democracy activists and other civilians have been killed through military crackdown following pro-democracy movements.             

Since the coup, a total of (12839) people are currently under detention, (1630) of whom are serving sentences. There are a total of (86) post-coup death row prisoners as of November 3, 2022. (121) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (42) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (128) who have been sentenced to death. (22) people have been released on bail and (3188) people have already been released. These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly. 

On November 1, at around 9 PM, junta forces, situated in Ywa Ma Village, Kawlin Township, Sagaing Region, indiscriminately fired heavy weaponry. One of the artillery shells landed on a house in San Tao Ya Kone Village; killing husband and wife Soe Myint and Pu.

On November 1, a CDM worker called Aung Kyaw Kyaw was arrested near Poppa Village in Sagaing by junta forces. Aung Kyaw Kyaw was an assistant factory officer of Ywa Htaung Diesel Locomotive Maintenance center in Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region.
