Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (780) houses and buildings have been sealed off by Junta between February 2021 and September 2022.
Since the February 1, 2021, military coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (2346) people, pro-democracy activists and other civilians have been killed through military crackdown following pro-democracy movements.
Since the coup, a total of (12633) people are currently under detention and (1539) are serving sentences. There are a total of (84) post-coup death row prisoners as of October 12, 2022. (121) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (42) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (126) who have been sentenced to death. (22) people have been released on bail and (3176) people have already been released. These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
Thandar Oo, a CDM middle school teacher, and five NLD members named Win Oo, Aung Sann Win, Win Hmi, Moe Htwe and Yii Win, were arrested by the armed wing of the Junta on October 11 at around 3 AM. They all lived at Sanpya Village in Pwintbyu Township, Magway Region.
On the evening of October 7, a youth was beaten and arrested when the Junta chased two youths, accused of hanging a banner at the fence of the Yangon Region Supreme Court, located on Pansodan Road in Kyauktada Township. The name of the arrested youth is 18-year-old Linn Khant Phyo, living in Thaketa Township. The other youth escaped arrest.
