Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (780) houses and buildings have been sealed off by Junta between February 2021 and September 2022.
Since the February 1, 2021 military coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (2338) people, pro-democracy activists and other civilians have been killed through military crackdown following pro-democracy movements.
Since the coup, a total of (12586) people are currently under detention and (1508) are serving sentences. There are a total of (84) post-coup death row prisoners as of October 7, 2022. (121) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (42) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (126) who have been sentenced to death. (22) people have been released on bail and (3172) people have already been released. These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
On September 5, at around 10 PM, junta forces arrested Kyaw Swe Win, No. 1 Regional Hluttaw Representative from Homalin Township, Sagaing Region, along with his wife and their child. Kyaw Swe Win had a warrant out against him, under the charge of Penal Code Section 505 A. He was captured in Monywa Town where the family was evading arrest.
On September 30, Soe Mya Mya, a CDM teacher, was sentenced to serve 5 years in prison under Counter-Terrorism Law Section 52 (A) by Mogaung Township Court in Kachin State. Along with three young men; Min Thant Naing, Hein Zar Aung and Arkar Hein, who were sentenced to serve 2 years each in prison, under the charge of Penal Code Section 505 A. The junta’s Military Affair For Security arrested Soe Mya Mya in her house on July 13, for teaching at Kaung For You free online school. On the same day, the three young men were also arrested in Myot Oo Ward, Mogaung Township, for protesting against the military coup.
