Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (780) houses and buildings have been sealed off by Junta between February 2021 and September 2022.  

Since the February 1, 2021 military coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (2332) people, pro-democracy activists and other civilians have been killed through military crackdown following pro-democracy movements.             

Since the coup, a total of (12569) people are currently under detention and (1503) are serving sentences. There are a total of (84) post-coup death row prisoners as of October 3, 2022. (121) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (42) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (126) who have been sentenced to death. (22) people have been released on bail and (3153) people have already been released. These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly. 

On September 29, Dr. Htar Htar Linn, director of the Department of Public Health in the Ministry of Health who participated in CDM, was sentenced to two years imprisonment under Section Section 17 (1) and 17 (2) of the Unlawful Associations Act and another two years imprisonment under Section 505A of the Penal Code by the Nay Pyi Taw Prison court. She was already sentenced to 3 years in prison with hard labor under the Anti-Corruption Law on April 20.

On September 29, at around 5:55 PM, junta forces from Baw Ka Htar Base, Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region, fired heavy weaponry into Baw Ka Htar Village. As a result, locals Pauk Sa and Nyar Ma Aye were killed, while a further 5 people were injured.
