Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (760) houses and buildings have been sealed off by Junta between February 2021 and August 2022.
Since the February 1, 2021 military coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (2319) people, pro-democracy activists and other civilians have been killed through military crackdown following pro-democracy movements.
Since the coup, a total of (12500) people are currently under detention and (1491) are serving sentences. There are a total of (84) post-coup death row prisoners as of September 26, 2022. (121) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (42) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (126) who have been sentenced to death. (22) people have been released on bail and (3121) people have already been released. These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
On September 25, at around 11 pm, Operation Control Command No.9, based in Kyauktaw Town, Rakhine State, indiscriminately fired heavy weaponry. One of the artillery shells landed on a house in Nagara Village, Kyauktaw Township, killing 7-year old Ko Naing (aka Maung Gyi).
On September 23, at around 3 pm, Win Naing, the father of Aunglan Township NLD Youth Correspondent in Magway Region, Thura Naing, was detained by junta forces without cause. Thura Naing is evading an arrest warrant under Penal Code Section 505A for participation in anti-military dictatorship protests.
AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offences.
