Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (760) houses and buildings have been sealed off by Junta between February 2021 and August 2022.
Since the February 1, 2021 military coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (2316) people, pro-democracy activists and other civilians have been killed through military crackdown following pro-democracy movements.
Since the coup, a total of (12464) people are currently under detention and (1483) are serving sentences. There are a total of (84) post-coup death row prisoners as of September 23, 2022. (121) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (42) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (126) who have been sentenced to death. (22) people have been released on bail and (3121) people have already been released. These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
On September 21, at 1 pm, an junta artillery division, stationed in Loikaw, Kayah State, fired heavy weaponry indiscriminately. 2 of the artillery shells landed into Saung Kan (Shan) Village in Loikaw Township, killing a local named Jue.
On September 22, junta forces stationed in Shwe Paw Kyunn Pagoda in Shwegu Township, Kachin State, fired heavy weaponry indiscriminately at villages on the other side of the river in Shwegu. One of the artillery shells exploded in Moe Sitt Village, killing 12-year old Zwe Naing Win on the spot while another woman lost her leg. Other villagers were also injured, whilst 2 households were burnt down.
AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offences.
