Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (760) houses and buildings have been sealed off by Junta between February 2021 and August 2022.
Since the February 1, 2021 military coup and the emergence of the Spring Revolution, a total of (2299) people, pro-democracy activists and other civilians have been killed through military crackdown following pro-democracy movements.
Since the coup, a total of (12444) people are currently under detention and (1477) are serving sentences. There are a total of (84) post-coup death row prisoners as of September 20, 2022. (121) people have been sentenced in absentia, of whom (42) have been sentenced to death. This makes a total of (126) who have been sentenced to death. (22) people have been released on bail and (3114) people have already been released. These are the numbers verified by AAPP. The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
In Hakha Township, Chin State, an ethnic-Chin vocalist called Mercy Ngun Tha Cinwas was arrested by the junta forces on September 18, at around 9 am. Mercy Ngun Tha Cinwas was detained for alleged connection to the PDF whilst at her Chin traditional clothing shop, Cengkerh Collection.
On September 18, at around 9 pm, Lal Madee, an ethnic-Lisu from Ward 2, Arlan Village in Myitkyina Township, Kachin State was killed. Lal Madee was going to check on his bamboo raft at a pier when he ran into the junta forces. Junta troops tried to stop him, but when he fled in fear, they shot him. His body was then set on fire near a river bank.
