Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (617) houses and buildings have been sealed off by Junta between February 2021 and May 2022.  

As of June 13, 2022, (1937) people are confirmed dead and murdered by the junta. AAPP compiled and documented (8) fallen heroes today. These (8) fallen heroes from Demoso Township in Kayah State, Tamu Township and Katha Township in Sagaing Region and Gangaw Township in Magway Region were killed on previous days, but documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.              

As of June 13, 2022, a total of (11043) people are currently under detention. (1132) people have been sentenced in person, of them 73 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). (120) people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 41 sentenced to death. This makes a total of (114) who have been sentenced to death. (21) people have been released on bail and (3036) people have already been released.     

On June 10, at 7 PM, a Chin woman named Ngai Sian Nem was shot dead by the armed wing of the junta near an army base in Tamu Town, while she was going home from Kale Town (Sagaing Region).

On June 10, at around 9 PM, the 102nd Infantry Regiment, based in Ngway Taung, used heavy weaponry on Saung Dular Village in Demoso Township (Kayah State). The attack caused the death of Ko Yii whose house got hit by artillery shells. 3 other people were injured, including a 5-year old child.

AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
