Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (617) houses and buildings have been sealed off by Junta between February 2021 and May 2022.  

As of June 9, 2022, (1924) people are confirmed dead and murdered by the junta. AAPP compiled and documented (15) fallen heroes today. These (15) fallen heroes from Myinmu Township and Kani Township in Sagaing Region and Gangaw Township in Magway Region were killed on previous days, but documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.              

As of June 9, 2022, a total of (10998) people are currently under detention. (1120) people have been sentenced in person, of them 73 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). (120) people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 41 sentenced to death. This makes a total of (114) who have been sentenced to death. (21) people have been released on bail and (3036) people have already been released.     

Members of the 2nd Unit of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) Battalion-1 of Kyaukpadaung Township (Mandalay Region), Hein Zayar Phyo and Hein Zayar Oo, were arrested on June 1. They were transferred from Letpan Pyar Police Station to Division 99 on June 3 where they were tortured and killed. They were living in Bo Tae Village in Kyaukpadaung Township and were students of distance education at Myingyan University.

On May 31, during a clash between the local PDFs and the armed wing of the junta in Oo Yin Thar Village, Wetlet Township (Sagaing Region), an artillery shell fired by the armed wing of the Junta exploded and injured a disabled woman, according to locals. She was a 30-year old woman named Mone, and she died of her injuries the next day.
