As of June 1, 2022, (1878) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (2) fallen heroes today. These (2) fallen heroes from Kanbalu Township in Sagaing Region were killed on May 29 and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of June 1, 2022, a total of (10859) people are currently under detention. (1087) people have been sentenced in person, of them 72 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1979 are evading arrest warrants. 120 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 41 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 113 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.

Soe Thant and Nyi Nyi Win from Pint Thar Village in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region were arrested and killed by the armed wing of the Junta on May 29 at around 6 PM. When a clash broke out between the armed wing of the junta and the PDFs, Soe Thant and Nyi Nyi Win hid in a monastery. As there were no mosquito nets for them, they went home to get some and they encountered junta forces at the village entrance. They were coming as reinforcement and captured and killed them.

Two brothers named Tin Tun Aung and Aung Aung are members of Singu People’s Defense Force and live in Ye Ywar Thit Village, Singu Township, Mandalay Region. On May 29, at around 4PM, the armed wing of the junta searched their house but failed to find them. Their father, Aye Maung, and Tin Tun Aung’s wife, Win Theingi, were taken as hostages. Aye Maung was released that night, however Win Theingi is still being held captive.
