Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (570) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the Junta since the 2021 coup up until April 2022.  

As of May 30, 2022, (1874) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (8) fallen heroes today. These (8) fallen heroes from Mingin Township in Sagaing Region and Yesagyo Township in Magway Region were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.              

As of May 30, 2022, a total of (10841) people are currently under detention. (1086) people have been sentenced in person, of them 72 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1979 are evading arrest warrants. 120 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 41 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 113 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.     

On May 28, at around 8 PM, heavy weaponry fired by the armed wing of the junta in Tar Han Ward, Kale Township, Sagaing Region, caused the death of 2 internally displaced persons (IDP) and a woman. All three died of the wounds caused by artillery shells. The two IDP; Ni Ni Aye and her son Bhone Myat Oo, were running away from Mingin to Kale Town. A woman, called Pi Mc Vanlalawmpuii died on May 29, at 1 AM.

On May 27, at around 4 PM, the armed wing of the junta shot and killed two civilians  called Than Zaw and Than Zaw Aung, supposedly for riding a motorcycle together near Ba La Ba Village in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region. The bodies of the two civilians from Kwae Htaunt Village were then burned. 

AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
