Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (570) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the Junta since the 2021 coup up until April 2022.
As of May 24, 2022, (1861) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (3) fallen heroes today. These (3) fallen heroes from Khin-U Township in Sagaing Region were killed on May 20 and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.
As of May 24, 2022, a total of (10769) people are currently under detention. (1078) people have been sentenced in person, of them 72 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1979 are evading arrest warrants. 120 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 41 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 113 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.
On the afternoon of May 20, the armed wing of the Junta raided In-Taing Lay Village in Sagaing Region’s Khin-U Township by firing artillery shells. Three local villagers named Naing Oo, Win Bo and Lone Khin were shot to death by such shells and 75-year-old Sein Lin was burnt to death.
On May 22 at around 1 pm, Sai Nyi Nyi, living in Shwe Bone Thar Village in Maung Township, Sagaing Region, was arrested by the armed wing of the Junta at Myaung Town for allegedly being connected to the PDF. He was arrested while shopping in Myaung Town.
AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
