Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (570) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the Junta since the 2021 coup up until April 2022.  

As of May 13, 2022, (1835) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. Today, there were no confirmed fallen heroes. This is the number verified by AAPP, the actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.              

As of May 13, 2022, a total of (10631) people are currently under detention. (1065) people have been sentenced in person, of them 68 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1977 are evading arrest warrants. 120 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 41 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 109 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.     

On May 9 at around 8 AM, Myo Htet Khaing and Hein Htet Kyaw, living in Myay Ni (North) Village in Magway Region’s Pauk Township, were arrested by Junta troops and its alliance in Pauk Town while they were going shopping. They were arrested for allegedly being PDF members.

On May 8 at around 3 pm,  Thin Thin, living in Pakokku Township, Magway Region, was arrested at her home by Junta troops and its alliance for allegedly supporting CRPH, NUG and PDF.

AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
