Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (57၀) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the Junta since the 2021 coup up until April 2022.
As of May 3, 2022, (1806) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (3) fallen heroes today. These (3) fallen heroes from Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region, Myinmu Township in Sagaing Region and Natmauk Township in Magway Region were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.
As of May 3, 2022, a total of (10517) people are currently under detention. (1039) people have been sentenced in person, of them 65 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1977 are evading arrest warrants. 120 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 41 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 106 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.
On April 29, at around 11 PM, Htin Kyaw, a civilian living in Aung San Ward, Natmauk Township, Magway Region, was arrested by a large group of policemen. His family was informed of his passing the following day.
On April 28, around 50 junta soldiers entered Zalet Kone Village’s Cemetery, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, while a funeral procession was taking place, and opened fire. The shootings caused the death of civilian Nay Soe Thu, who was shot in the legs and genital area. According to Thein Tan, a cousin of the fallen hero, he was the real target and the junta had come to arrest him, not Nay Soe Thu.
AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
