Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (547) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the Junta since the 2021 coup up until March 2022.  

As of April 28, 2022, (1800) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (2) fallen heroes today. These (2) fallen heroes from Tonzang Township and Tedim Township in Chin State were killed on April 27 and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.            

As of April 28, 2022, a total of (10405) people are currently under detention. (1016) people have been sentenced in person, of them 65 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1977 are evading arrest warrants. 120 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 41 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 106 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.     

Ywet Nu Aung, a lawyer representing Mandalay’s Region Chief Minister Doctor Zaw Myint Maung was arrested while leaving her office. Another lawyer got arrested alongside her. 

On April 27 at around 8 pm, Khai Lian Muang aged 17 years old, was killed. He was shot in the back as he was driving away on his motorbike after getting scared by a military check at the entrance of the Tedim town in Chin state.

AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
