Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (547) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the Junta since the 2021 coup up until March 2022.  

As of April 25, 2022, (1794) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (12) fallen heroes today. These (12) fallen heroes from Pauk Township in Magway Region, Chaung-U Township in Sagaing Region and Ywangan Township in Shan State were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.            

As of April 25, 2022, a total of (10307) people are currently under detention. (1001) people have been sentenced in person, of them 59 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1977 are evading arrest warrants. 120 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 41 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 100 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.     

On the morning of April 23, the junta raided Nyaung Yin Village in Pauk Township, Magway Region and fired heavy artillery shells. Two local villagers named Win Oo and Kyaw Min Lwin were shot dead at close range.  

On April 19, six villagers, living in Pae Yin Taung Village in Shan State’s Ywangan Township, were killed by the armed wing of the Junta for allegedly being PDF members. These six villagers are Tin Pe, Hla Soe, Tun Oo, Thet Aung, Myo Htwe and Win Naing and were arrested on April 16. Three more villagers were later killed, Ba Htoo, Phoe Pyaung and Hla Shwin.

AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
