Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (547) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the Junta since the 2021 coup up until March 2022.
As of April 22, 2022, (1782) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (3) fallen heroes today. These (3) fallen heroes from Tabayin Township in Sagaing Region were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.
As of April 22, 2022, a total of (10290) people are currently under detention. (999) people have been sentenced in person, of them 59 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1977 are evading arrest warrants. 120 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 41 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 100 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.
In the morning and evening of April 20, the armed wing of the junta burned down Nyaung Hla Village in Tabayin Township, Sagaing Region. Junta troops also detained a local villager Nay Myo Oo, then tortured and killed him with his hands tied behind his back. Nay Myo Oo was coming back to the village after sending his family to take refuge in another village when he encountered and was arrested by the junta troops.
On the evening of April 20, the armed wing of the junta suppressed an anti-coup demonstration in South Okkalapa Township, Yangon Region, by ramming a car into and then detaining the protesters. 2 members of the Confederation of Trade Unions, Myanmar (CTUM) were captured. They were Khaing Thinzar Aye (aka Bote Bote, Phaung Yoe) – the Head of CTUM Communication Department, and Ei Phyu Phyu Myint.
AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
