Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (547) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the Junta since the 2021 coup up until March 2022.  

As of April 19, 2022, (1773) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (4) fallen heroes today. These (4) fallen heroes from Pinlebu Township in Sagaing Region and Gangaw Township in Magway Region were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.            

As of April 19, 2022, a total of (10259) people are currently under detention. (996) people have been sentenced in person, of them 59 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1976 are evading arrest warrants. 120 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 41 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 100 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.     

On April 18, at around 8:30 AM, the armed wing of the junta and the Pyu Saw Htee personnel raided Hnan Khar Village in Gangaw Township, Magway Region. Junta forces took 67-year-old San Win with his hands tied behind his back to the cemetery, shooting him dead in the forehead at close range. 

Significant 10-day-long clashes occurred between the armed wing of the junta and local PDF in Pinlebu Township, Sagaing Region, from March 29 to April 10. Following the clashes, junta troops killed 9 locals issued Penal Code 505(A) arrest warrant from Pinlebu Township, they were alleged to have supported the PDF. Paw Win Aung, Paw Wan, and Win Aung were among the nine killed.
