Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (547) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the Junta since the 2021 coup up until March 2022.  

As of April 18, 2022, (1769) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (13) fallen heroes today. These (13) fallen heroes from Monywa Township, Kale Township and Ayadaw Township in Sagaing Region and Pauk Township in Magway Region were  killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.            

As of April 18, 2022, a total of (10249) people are currently under detention. (995) people have been sentenced in person, of them 59 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1976 are evading arrest warrants. 120 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 41 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 100 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.     

On the evening of April 12, the armed wing of the junta raided Tasu Village in Pauk Township, Magway Region and fired on fleeing local villagers with heavy artillery. 9 locals were killed. The deceased were San Khway, Than Saw, Khin Than Nu, Hla Myo Nwe, Hla Myo Kywe, Tin Moe Hlaing, Zin Zin Aung, Htay Wa and Myint Po.  

On April 14, at around 6 PM, the 17-year old Bo Gyi (aka Nay Min Kha), a member of the Black Dragon Special Task Force, was detained by the armed wing of the junta at his house in Myawaddy Ward, Monywa Township, Sagaing Region. He was tortured in an interrogation center and subsequently died on April 15 at around 4 PM.

AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
