Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

According to AAPP documentation, at least (440) houses and buildings have been sealed off by the Junta since the 2021 coup up until February 2022.
As of March 23, 2022, (1700) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (3) fallen heroes today. These (3) fallen heroes from Kawhmu Township in Yangon Region and Ye Township in Mon State were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.
As of March 23, 2022, a total of (9873) people are currently under detention. (868) people have been sentenced in person, of them 52 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1973 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 91 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.
In the early morning of March 20, the armed wing of the junta raided Myoe Kone Village’s Monastery, in Kawhmu Township, Yangon Region, and shot Thant Sin Aung (aka Pyaung Gyi) in the leg and head when he was running away. He died from the injuries. Thant Sin Aung (aka Pyaung Gyi) was chairman of the Arr Marn Charity Organization located in that monastery.
On March 18, Khaing Kyaw Linn Tun, aged 15 years old, living in Annwar Ward in Ye Township, Mon State, was shot to death by the military, while wearing plain clothes. Junta soldiers opened fire towards the group, as members of Mon State Revolutionary Organization (MSRO) were repairing a car at a garage near Wal Paung Village, in Ye Township. In addition, Aung Khant Hein, a volunteer for village development, was shot and arrested. He did not receive medical treatment and died during interrogation, on the night of March 20.
