Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of February 11, (1547) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (1) fallen hero today. This (1) fallen hero from North Dagon Township in Yangon Region was killed on February 9 and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.  

As of February 11, a total of (9087) people are currently under detention. (703) people have been sentenced in person, of them 45 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1974 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 84 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.

On February 9, past 11pm, a monk named Sandi Mar from Thinga Zar Monastery, in Mandalay Region’s Chan Aye Tharzan Township, was severely beaten and arrested by junta forces at the monastery for allegedly participating in the Mandalay Protest.

On the evening of February 9, the armed wing of the Junta raided a home in Mandalay Region’s Maha Aung Myay Township, and arrested two Mandalay Protest leaders, named Thura Aung and Ye Zin Tun aka Phoe Lone, and two citizen journalists, named Soe Linn Aung and Hla Myo Aung. They were severely beaten and punched when they were arrested.

AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
