Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of February 4, (1519) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (6) fallen heroes today. These (6) fallen heroes from Wundwin Township in Mandalay Regionand, Sagaing Township and Myinmu Township in Sagaing Region and Kanpetlet Township in Chin State were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.
As of February 4, a total of (8977) people are currently under detention. (669) people have been sentenced in person, of them 45 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1974 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 84 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.
A civilian named Min Yan Aung was shot dead on the head, and at least two other civilians were injured, when the armed wing of the Junta opened fire indiscriminately at houses, in Kanpetlet Township in Chin State, on January 31, around 6 am.
On February 3, Zaw Myo Aung, from Ma Du Ya Village in Myinmu Township in Sagaing Region, and three brothers named Kyaw Min Tun, Kyaw Thu Aung and Kyaw Min Naing, who lived in Nyaung Pin Wunn Village, in Sagaing Region’s Sagaing Township, were killed after being tortured by the armed wing of the Junta. The military arrested the three brothers, and used them as guides, and then entered Ma Du Ya Village.
AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
