Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of January 31, (1503) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (4) fallen heroes today. These (4) fallen heroes from Loikaw Township in Kayah State were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.
As of January 31, a total of (8835) people are currently under detention. (661) people have been sentenced in person, of them 45 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1972 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 84 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.
On January 27, the bodies of four locals, who were killed by the armed wing of the Junta, were found in Yayyao Village in Loikaw Township, Kayah State. Four locals were named You Jim, Phi Day Lal, David Kyaw Soe a.k.a. Kyaw Kyaw, aged 17 years old, and John Paul, aged 16 years old. These four locals are from Naung Yar Ward and Narnat Taw Ward in Loikaw Township, Kayah State. On January 24 and January 25, the armed wing of Junta raided villages, houses and wards as part of a military clearance operation. Then, they questioned the locals and arrested them. The four were shot dead following torture.
