Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of January 26, (1494) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (1) fallen hero today. This (1) fallen hero from Khin-u Township in Sagaing Region was killed on January 19 and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.
As of January 26, a total of (8783) people are currently under detention. (645) people have been sentenced in person, of them 45 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1966 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 84 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.
On January 25, the junta filed a lawsuit against the Minister of the Union Government Office, U Min Thu, under Section 55 of the Anti-Corruption Law. This happened at Phayar Kone Myoma Police Station in Ottarathiri Township, in Napyitaw.
On the morning of January 19, the armed wing of the Junta raided Letpan Hla Village in Khin-u Township, Sagaing Region and shot locals who were running away in fear. A local named Ko Oo was shot in the leg and then arrested. Later, he was shot dead after being tortured.
