Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of January 25, (1493) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (3) fallen heroes today. These (3) fallen heroes from Shwebo Township in Sagaing Region and Yesagyo Township in Magway Region were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.  

As of January 25, a total of (8788) people are currently under detention. (642) people have been sentenced in person, of them 45 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1966 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 84 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.

On the morning of January 24, the armed wing of the Junta and the Pyu Saw Htee raided Ywar Soe Village in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region. Locals  named Maung Nyo and Nga Ngwar, who is disabled, were shot to death. Then, the junta set fire to the entire village. 

On January 21, the armed wing of the Junta raided Nay Yin Village in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region and opened fire, unprovoked. Sein Wyne, a local of Nay Yin Village was shot dead on the spot. 

AAPP will continue to inform on verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update the lists with details of these alleged offenses.
