Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of December 25, (1375) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (10) fallen heroes today. These (10) fallen heroes from Tabayin Township and Kalay Township in Sagaing Region, Lounglon Township in Tanintharyi Region and Bilin Township in Mon State were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of December 25, a total of (8254) people are currently under detention. (421) people have been sentenced in person, of them 39 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1964 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 78  sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.

Over 35 local villagers including children were arrested and burnt to death on fire with vehicles. The atrocity happened when the villagers ran into the armed wing of the junta while fleeing on vehicles due to a clash near Moso Village in Kayah State’s Hpruso Township on the morning of December 24. 

On December 24, Kan Kyay a.k.a Thiha, living in Nyin Maw Village in Lounglon Township in Tanintharyi Region, was shot dead by the armed wing of the junta. Kan Kyay a.k.a Thiha suffered from mental illness, and was killed at Lounglon-San Hlan Road in Lounglon Township. 

On December 21 at 10 am, Naw Khee aged 60 years old, living in Htaw Kalaw Khee Village in Mon State’s Bilin Township, was shot dead in the head at close range by the terrorist Infantry Battalion 101.
