Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of December 15, (1343) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (4) fallen heroes today. These (4) fallen heroes from Yangon Region and Tabayin Township in Sagaing Region were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of December 15, a total of (8034) people are currently under detention. (39၀) people have been sentenced in person, of them 36 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1964 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 75 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.

On December 13, Soe Naing, a freelance photographer and graphic designer, was killed during interrogation. He was arrested by the armed wing of the Junta on December 10, while he was taking photos of the silent strike in Latha Township, Yangon Region. Along with Soe Naing, photographer Zaw Tun was also arrested.

Three villagers named Htein Linn, Zaw Zaw Aung and Nyo Tone a.k.a Zaw Myo Oo, living in Hman Thar Village, Tabayin Township, Sagaing Region, were shot dead in the head. They were running away and shot in a field, when the armed wing of the Junta entered the village on December 14.
