Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of November 29, (1297) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (2) fallen heroes today. These (2) fallen heroes from North Okkalapa Township and Thanlyin Township in Yangon Region were killed on previous days and were documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of November 29, a total of (7608) people are currently under detention. (341) people have been sentenced in person, of them 34 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1954 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 73 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.

On the morning of November 26, Zaw Win Tun was shot dead whilst on a motorbike at Taze intersection in Taze Township, Sagaing Region. Zaw Win Tun was from Thanlyin Township, Yangon Region. He was visiting Indawyoe Village in Taze Township and was killed by the armed wing of the Junta on his way back to Yangon via the bus station. 

On November 27 at around 2 am, four villagers in Twingyi Village in Magway Region’s Natmauk Township were arrested and beaten at their homes by Junta soldiers. They were CDMer Myo Zayar Kyaw, Myat Ko, Aung Ko Min, and Aung Tun Naing.
