Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of November 27, (1295) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (1) fallen hero today. This (1) fallen hero from Yangon Region died on July 14 and was documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of November 27, a total of (7595) people are currently under detention. (341) people have been sentenced in person, of them 34 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1954 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.

On the morning of November 25, the mother and sister of engineering student Hein Htet, were arrested when the armed wing of the Junta failed to find Hein Htet, who is accused of being part of the PDF. The detained Khin Aye Maw a.k.a Ma Nge and a 12 year-old-girl were living in Mandalay Region’s Chan Mya Tharsi Township. Khin Aye Maw a.k.a Ma Nge’s hands were placed on her back when she was arrested, whilst the 12 year-old sister was released that evening. Moerover, their home was seized and sealed off. 

On November 25 at 9 am, Ko Nyo, secretary of Kayunarshin Charity Organization, was arrested when the junta did not find Ko Nyo’s elder brother. The name of the brother is Kyaw Soe Naing, and he is an MP in Mandalay’s Regional Hluttaw, and from the NLD in Nganzun Township.
