Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of November 23, (1290) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (4) fallen heroes today. These (4) fallen heroes from Khin-u Township and Chaung-u Township in Sagaing Region, Hmawbe Township in Yangon Region and Loikaw Township in Kayah State were killed on a previous day and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of November 23, a total of (7500) people are currently under detention. (306) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1954 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.

On November 20, George Maung Nge, 17 years old, living in Loikaw Township, Kayah State, was shot dead whilst under detention at Loikaw Myoma Police Station. The soldiers and police of the armed wing of the junta began arguing among themselves when they shot George Maung Nge unprovoked. He was arrested in April under Section 505(a) of the Penal Code. 

On November 20 at 10 am, Tin Maung Aye who was sitting on the backseat of the motorbike was shot dead when the armed wing of the Junta chased him and another man by car. The driver of the motorbike escaped. They lived in East Kyee Kone Village in Chaung-u Township, Sagaing Region and were shot near the football ground in Khin Mon Village, while they were returning to Kyee Kone Village from Chaung-u Town.
