Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of November 9, (1250) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (6) fallen heroes today. These (6) fallen heroes from Hakha Township in Chin State, Kungyangon Township in Yangon Region and Kani Township in Sagaing Region were killed on previous days and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of November 9, a total of (7134) people are currently under detention. (286) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1954 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released.

Nan Khin Htwe Myint, Karen State Chief Minister, who had previously been sentenced to 2 years in prison, was sentenced to a further 75 years imprisonment with hard labor under Section 55 of the Anti-Corruption Law on November 9. Nan Khin Htwe Myint was charged with five counts under Section 55, including one count for 15 years. Likewise, Than Naing, Minister of Planning, Finance and Municipal Affairs of the Karen State Government, who had previously been sentenced to 2 years in prison, was sentenced to 90 years imprisonment under six counts of the Anti-Corruption Law on November 9. 

Zin Wai Aung, 19 years old, living in Daydanaw Village in Kungyangon Township, Yangon Region, was arrested by the terrorist junta on November 6 and died the same night, due to torture during interrogation. 

Pu Rual Cung, who was detained by the terrorist junta for almost one month in Hakha Town in Chin State, died during interrogation. On October 12, five youths, including Pu Rual Cung were arrested by the terrorist junta, during a clash in Hnee Yar Lun Thar Ward in Hakha Town.
