Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of October 28, (1219) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (1) fallen hero today. This (1) fallen hero from Tanintharyi Township in Tanintharyi Region was killed on October 27 and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of October 28, a total of (7079) people are currently under detention. (299) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1954 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. The exact identities and total figure remains to be verified, but we will continue to confirm the recently released. 

On October 27, NLD youth member, Min Min Thu a.k.a Mohammad Har Ni, from East Mawtone Village in Tanintharyi Township, Tanintharyi Region, was tortured to death during interrogation. He was arrested by 557 Infantry Battalion and Military Security Affairs on the night of October 25. 

On the night of October 25, Thiha Zaw Win, a former political prisoner, living in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, was beaten and arrested at home by the terrorist junta.

AAPP will continue to keep you informed of verified daily arrests, charges, sentences and fatalities in relation to the attempted coup, and update our lists to the details of these alleged offences.
