Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of October 7, (1159) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (1) fallen hero today. This (1) fallen hero from Loikaw Township in Kayah  State was killed on October 6 and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of October 7, a total of (7119) people are currently under detention. (347) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1989 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. We are also continuing to verify the recently released detainees.

On the night of October 6 at Loikaw Township in Kayah State, a civilian named Tun Aung died. Eight others got injured, including two children, as artillery shells fired by terrorist junta troops, exploded on homes.

On October 5 at around 5 am, junta soldiers entered Thapyay Thar Village in Mandalay Region’s Myingyan Township. Mya Shin, 50 years old, was beaten and arrested at home, for helping his son to escape. In addition to this, Mone, 60 years old, and Hnin Moe, wife and daughter of Kyaw Myint were arrested as hostages, when junta troops did not find Kyaw Myint at home in Thapyay Thar village. Hmet, 60 years old, was also arrested.
