Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

As of September 18, (1109) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (1) fallen hero today. This (1) fallen hero from Lounglon Township in  Tanintharyi Region was killed yesterday and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP. The actual number of fatalities is likely much higher. We will continue adding as and when.

As of September 18, a total of (6613) people are currently under detention. (279) people have been sentenced in person, of them 26 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1984 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 65 sentenced to death, in person and absentia. We are also continuing to verify the recently released detainees.

On the night of September 17, a 16 year old child named Yin Min Khant a.k.a Pin Att, living in Kadat Nge Htein Village in Lounglon Township in  Tanintharyi Region, was shot to death by terrorist junta soldiers, who set up a camp at the village monastery. 

A pregnant woman named Kay Zin Kyaing, living in Aungban Town in Shan State’s Kalaw Township, was beaten on her back and legs by the terrorist military, during questioning, after she was arrested at home, on September 15. On September 17, she was sentenced to two years imprisonment, under Section 505(a) of the Penal Code. 

A 14 years old child named Khan Wai Linn a.k.a Khant Ko Ko Thet, who is the son of the NLD Chairman Kyaw San Linn for Taung Lelkan Village, Taungthar Township in Mandalay Region, was detained at home as a hostage, when the terrorist junta did not find his father, Kyaw San Linn, on September 3, at 2am. Khan Wai Linn a.k.a Khant Ko Ko Thet is being detained at an elderly care home, which is located at the entrance of Taungthar Town. Junta troops had set up a camp at this care home.
